Founded in 2013, the Cheers for Fears initiative organises festivals, workshops, academies and much more with and for art and art theory students in NRW. The aim is to bring students and young artists together across genres, to encourage collaborations and to exchange working strategies, aesthetics and perspectives.

Cheers for Fears will go online with its new website at the beginning of 2022. In March 2022, the Mobile Academy will organise a festival together with the Tanzhaus NRW, in early summer Cheers for Fears will invite to the Hackaton at the Dortmund Academy for Theatre and Digitality and throughout the year, on-tour formats will take place at universities in the state. In addition, our website, our newsletter and our social media channels offer the opportunity to find collaborators for projects and to keep an overview of current open calls.

We are looking for an advanced student or young cultural worker who has already gained some experience in the fields of online editing, social media and/or press & public relations, be it through student festivals, assistantships, work at a university, etc. The online editor continuously updates and improves the website (Word Press – CMS), regularly creates a newsletter with the announcements of Cheers for Fears and calls from the scene and manages the Facebook & Instagram presence of the Mobile Academy. The work is done in consultation with the Cheers for Fears coordinators. Working hours and place of work are determined by the online editor. We assume an average of 8 hours of work per week or about 300 hours in total. The remuneration is based on the recommendations of the art associations.

A diverse cultural scene in NRW is very important to us. Therefore, we welcome all applications – regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic and social origin, religion/belief, disability, age as well as sexual orientation and identity.

Please send your APPLICATION with a short letter of motivation, CV and work samples in a PDF document to by 8 January 2022.
